You can access this page by clicking on Pages from the main menu, and Page Builders from the dropdown menu. Then select the Pre-Filtered Collection Builder module from the available builders.
Pre-Filtered Collection Builder Fundamental
This section will teach you how to use the Pre-Filtered Collection Builder module. With this module, you can create a page that displays the desired products based on available Filters.
Here’s an example of a finished page made using the Pre-Filtered Collection Builder:
Now that you have learned the fundamentals and seen an example of the end result, this guide will walk you through the process of using the Pre-Filtered Collection Builder.
- 1 Pre-Filtered Collection Builder. This module allows you to build a Pre-Filtered Collection using Build’s custom interface.
- 2 Page name. In this field, enter the name of the page you would like to build using the Pre-Filtered Collection Builder.
- 3 Add Page. Click here when you are ready to begin. The following dialog box will appear.
- 1 Manage Page. Click here to open the Pre-Filtered Collection Builder application and continue creating your page.
Pre-Filtered Collection Builder
- At the top of the Pre-Filtered Collection Builder landing page, the title you entered in the previous window will be displayed as Edit - {Title}.
The Pre-Filtered Collection Builder is then split into 8 sections that will be covered in the guide below:

(1) Pre-Filter Products
In this section, users will be able to select the specific filters that can be applied on this page.
- 1 In this area, you’ll find the following buttons:
- [On | Off]. This setting controls whether the page is turned On or Off.
- View Page. This button allows you to instantly View the page in its current state.
- 2 In this area, you’ll find a group of checkboxes, toggling on or off the following filter criteria:
- In Stock. This turns on or off a Filter for if an item is In Stock.
- On Sale. This turns on or off a Filter for if an item is On Sale.
- With Price. This turns on or off a Filter for if an item is With Price (of a specific value range). Selecting this box will open two more fields allowing you to enter a From and To for the price range.
- Shopping Cart Ready. This turns on or off a Filter for if an item is Shopping Cart Ready.
- 3 In this area, you’ll find the following fields, where the following filter criteria can be entered:
- Tags. In this field, you can enter Tags to add as Filters for your page. You can apply any Tag entries that you have already created in Manage Tags.
- Brands. In this field, you can enter Brands to add as Filters for your page.
- 4 In this area, you’ll find the following dropdowns, specifying further Filter criteria. This section enables you to use different Filters. These Filters enable you to string together up to three Specifications and sets of Specification Attributes in a Filter System.
- Product Type (Select a Product Type). From the dropdown, you can select a Product Type. This will then affect the Specification dropdown below.
- Specification 1. From this dropdown, you can select a Specification that applies to the Product Type selected above.
- Specification 1 Attributes. From this dropdown, you can select a Specification Attribute that applies to the Specification selected above. You can add multiple Specification Attributes which will appear in the Field as boxes.
- [AND | OR]. Select one of these two options that enable you to Filter for multiple Specifications and Specification Attributes at a time. The explanation is as follows:
- AND. When this option is selected, a Filter result will only include products that contain the Specifications/Specification Attributes separated by the AND.
- OR. When this option is selected, a Filter result will include products that contain any of the Specifications/Specification Attributes separated by the OR.
- Reminder: be sure to click on the Save buttons after making final changes, before you continue.
Now that you have familiarized yourself with the Pre-Filter Products section and learned its functions, you can move down to the next section of the screen (Choose Filters to Display on This Collection Page).
(2) Choose Filters to Display on This Collection Page
In this section, you will be able to select which Filters to display on the Collection Page. The checkboxes in this section will turn On or Off the Filters that relate to the Product Type selected in the previous section.
- 1 Filters. In this area, you can modify your Settings that relate to specific Filters.
- 2 Columns. These columns contain different Settings that enable you to Modify your Filters.
- Filter by Specifications. This checkbox enables you to turn on a Filter for Specifications, including: Product Type, Brand, Price, In Stock, Collection, Center Stone Clarity, Center Stone Color, Center Stone Shape, Center Stone Type, Center Stone Weight - ct, Material, Ring Size, Stones Clarity, Stones Color, Stones Shape, Stones Total Weight - ct, Stones Type, Thickness, Thickness Unit, Weight, Weight Unit, Width, Width Unit.
- Expand [Yes | No]. This setting enables you to control whether or not the Filter will Expand.
- Order [A-Z | Custom]. This setting enables you to control whether the Filters will be Ordered from A-Z or according to a Custom Order that you specify by entering Numbers in the Fields below.
- [Arrow Button]. Click this Arrow button to continue setting up the Attributes for the corresponding Specification.
- 3 Attributes. In this area, you can modify your Filter by Attribute Settings that correspond to the selected Specification to the left.
- Add Custom Attribute. Click this button to open a window that will prompt you to enter an Attribute Name so that you can Create a Custom Attribute.
- 4 Columns. These columns contain different Settings related to Product
- Add Custom Attribute. Click this button to open a window that will prompt you to enter an Attribute Name so that you can Create a Custom Attribute.
- Filter by Attributes. In this column, Attributes for the chosen Specification to the left will be listed, checking the box selects the Attribute to be included in the Filter.
- Attribute Values. In this column, the Attribute Values are listed.
- Order [A-Z | Custom]. This setting enables you to control whether the Filter Attributes will be Ordered from A-Z or according to a Custom Order that you specify by entering Numbers in the Fields below.
- An example is given of Filter Attributes associated with the Product Type selected in the previous section.

Now that you have familiarized yourself with the Choose Filters to Display on This Collection Page section and learned its functions, you can move down to the next section of the screen (Select Order and Sorting).
(3) Select Order and Sorting
In this section, you will be able to select the Order and Sorting for your Pre-Filter Collection Page.
- 1 Here you can enter values for, and then drag and drop boxes containing Stock, Brand, Product Order, Product Type, Product Tags, Price, Date of Arrival, and Shuffle, to the desired position that these Filters will appear on your page.
- ● Reminder: be sure to click on the Save buttons after making final changes, before you continue.
Now that you have familiarized yourself with the Select Order and Sorting section and learned its functions, you can move down to the next section of the screen (Above the Page Banners).
(4) Above the Page Banners
In this section, you can select Banners and Videos to be displayed above the Pre-Filter Collection page you are creating.
- 2 In this area, you can Browse for banner images and videos to be applied to Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile settings. You can also apply the image’s Alt Text in the corresponding field.
- ● Note: if a Banner Image or Video is not selected for any of the above three settings, then no Image or Video will display when the page is viewed from the corresponding device.
- ● Reminder: be sure to click on the Save buttons after making final changes, before you continue.
Now that you have familiarized yourself with the Above the Page Banners section and learned its functions, you can move down to the next section of the screen (Main Information).
(5) Main Information
In this section, you will enter important Main Information that applies to your page.
- 1 Page Name. In this field, you can enter a descriptive name for your page.
- 2 Alias. An alias is a name that comes after the domain name. In this field an alias will be automatically assigned to your page. You are also free to change the alias manually here. You must choose a unique alias for every page. If an identical alias already exists in the system, an error message will result.
- 3 GUID. The Global Unique Identifier is a number automatically assigned to every page. It can’t be changed.
- 4 Start Date. In this field, you can enter a Start Date for your Pre-Filtered Collection Page. This is useful, for example, when considering time-specific pages like Holiday Specials.
- 5 End Date. In this field, you can enter an End Date for your Pre-Filtered Collection Page. This is useful, for example, when considering time-specific pages like Holiday Specials.
- ● Reminder: be sure to click on the Save buttons after making final changes, before you continue.
Now that you have entered the desired values into Main Information, you can move on to the next section of the screen (SEO).
(6) SEO / Page Content
This section will cover information for your page’s SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Page Content.
SEO. These fields enable you to customize the SEO Content of your page.
- 1 Title. In this field, enter a Title. This is what is used to identify your Page in the back end of the Build CMS.
- 2 Meta Title. In this field, enter a Meta Title. This is what the search engine displays in its results and in tabs when linking to your Page.
- 3 Meta Keywords. In this field, enter Meta Keywords for your Page. This is a type of Tag that labels your site’s content on a basic level for search engine crawling.
- 4 Meta Description. In this field, enter a Meta Description for your Page. This is a short description that will be used as a Tag to label your site accurately for search engines.
- 5 Canonical. In this field, enter a Canonical URL for your Page. This will be used by search engines to represent the definitive version of multiple pages with similar content.
- 6 Thumbnail. In this field, a Thumbnail of your chosen Image will be displayed.
- Browse. Click this button to Browse for an image to be used for SEO purposes.
- 7 Alt Text. In this field, enter Alt Text to describe your Image.
- 8 Page Content. This section includes three buttons, each that opens an Editor screen to create different type of Content.
- Above the Page Content. This button opens an Editor enabling you to design Above the Page Content. This Content will appear at the top of the Page.
- Below the Page Content. This button opens an Editor enabling you to design Below the Page Content. This Content will appear at the bottom of the Page.
- Structured Content. This button opens an Editor enabling you to design Structured Content that can be positioned in Rows and Structured along with Images.
Clicking on either of the above two buttons, Above the Page Content or Below the Page Content, will open an editor specific to each, with a window that appears as follows:
- 1 There is also a third button, on the right of the Page Content section:
- Structured Content. This enables you to create content that can be structured within the page. Clicking on this button brings up a different editor from the others, which allows you to structure the content with images. That editor appears with several rows displayed as follows:
- 1 Title. In this field, you can enter a Title for the Structured Content that will display on your page.
- 2 Description. In this fiel,d you can enter a Description for the Structured Content that will display on your page.
- 3 Browse (Image). Here you can select an image for the Structured Content that will display on your page.
- 4 Alt Text. In this field, you can enter Alt Text for the Image that will display on your page.
- 5 Browse (Video). In this field, you can select a Video for the Structured Content that will display on your page.
- 6 Title Text. In this field, you can enter Alt Text for the Structured Content that will display on your page.
- ● Reminder: be sure to click on the Save buttons after making final changes, before you continue.
Now that you have entered the desired values into Page Content, you can move on to the next section (Keyword Search).
(7) Keyword Search
- 1 Keywords. In this field, you can enter Keywords that will be associated with your page, for Search and Filter functions.
- 2 Image. In this section, you can click on Browse to select an Image. The image will display as a thumbnail in the above window.
- 3 Alt Text. In this field you can enter Alt Text which describes the image. This is required of all images in compliance with ADA standards. Alt Text assists those with vision disabilities by reading out loud the description of an image.
- ● Reminder: be sure to click on the Save buttons after making final changes, before you continue.
Now that you have entered the desired values into Keyword Search, you can move on to the next section of the screen (Settings / Sort Options).
(8) Settings / Sort Options
This section will cover information for your page’s Settings / Sort Options.
- 4 Settings. In this section, you can modify different Settings.
- Filter Template [Default Item Filter Page - Classic]. This drop-down menu enables you to select the Filter Template. This includes both Item and Diamond filters, Classic and Nova versions.
- Show Variations [Yes | No]. This setting enables you to choose whether or not to Show Variations.
- Image Match [Yes | No]. This setting enables you to choose whether or not to use Image Match.
- 5 Sort Options. These checkboxes will provide a Sort Options dropdown displayed on the page.
- Default. This checkbox activates the Default Sort Option.
- Price (High to Low). This checkbox activates the Price (High to Low) Sort Option.
- Price (Low to High). This checkbox activates the Price (Low to High) Sort Option.
- Newest Arrivals. This checkbox activates the Newest Arrivals Sort Option.
- Stock Availability. This checkbox activates the Stock Availability Sort Option.
- Brand Name (A - Z). This checkbox activates the Brand Name (A - Z) Sort Option.
- Brand Name (Z - A). This checkbox activates the Brand Name (Z - A) Sort Option.
- Model Number (A - Z). This checkbox activates the Model Number (A - Z) Sort Option.
- Model Number (Z - A). This checkbox activates the Model Number (Z - A) Sort Option.

(9) Marketing Banners
This section enables you to create a Marketing Banner for your Pre-Filtered Collection Page. This way you can add Banners mixed in with your Products, allowing you to highlight promotions, advertisements or other Marketing materials, seamlessly alongside your items. Fill out the fields below to continue setting up your Marketing Banner.
- 1 Add Banner. Click this button to Add Banner with the included fields below.
- 2 Alt Text. In this field, enter Alt Text for your Marketing Banner.
- 3 Link. In this field, enter the Link for your Marketing Banner.
- 4 Position [Random]. In this field, enter the Position number for your Marketing Banner. Click the checkbox to enable the Banner to appear in a Random position.
- 5 Browse. In this field, click the Browse button to select an Image for your Marketing Banner.
- ● Delete. Click the red Delete button on the right side to Delete the Marketing Banner.
- ● Save. Click the Save button when you have completed filling in the above fields.
- ● Here’s an example of how a Marketing Banner may appear on your website.
