General Rules and Guidelines for Selecting Specification Values
- ● 1 Select a Product Type from the dropdown menu to reveal the corresponding table of specifications. Underlined red asterisks (*) indicate mandatory Specifications that are required by the system to effectively organize the product. Those without asterisks are optional.
The following are important points regarding the selection of specification values:
- ● Upon clicking in one of the fields, either a text box or dropdown menu will appear, allowing you to select values.
- ● When referring to values for specifications such as Material or Stone Type, where more than one can apply to a product, each value must be added individually. For example: a two-tone Wedding Band should have each material added separately.
- ● Maintain a consistent order for multiple values across related specifications (such as Stones Specs) matters. The values must correspond in their respective order. For example, a product that contains a Round Diamond and a Heart-Shaped Amethyst should use the ordering shown below:
- ● This ordering rule also applies to other related specifications like Stones Total Weight and Stones Color.
- ● Any time that a measurement specification value is selected, such as a Length of “5”, then a Length Unit (e.g. “cm”) must also be selected.
- ● On items that include Center Stone, this is also known as the attentional stone, and refers to the biggest stone in the piece.
A walkthrough of all product specification templates follows below.
