Payment Methods - Authorize.net Fundamental

In this section, you will learn to use the Payment Methods - Authorize.net module. This module enables you to set up the Authorize.net Payment Method, which customers can use from your website’s checkout.

Authorize.net is a payment system that integrates with the Build CMS. It accepts a variety of payment options, such as Google Pay, Apple Pay, and more. To set up these payment options, an Authorize.net account must first be instated and activated.

Authorize.net and these other payment methods all integrate with Build to provide customers with a variety of checkout options on your website. Each payment method will need to be integrated separately, both through Authorize.net and Build.

This guide will be separated into three sections for configuring the Authorize.net Payment Method.

• ● 1 Authorize.net Account Setup. In this step, you will create an account on the Authorize.net website.

• ● 2 Authorize.net Information Retrieval. In this step, you will navigate your Authorize.net account page and retrieve the information needed for linking up with your Build CMS Account.

• ● 3 Authorize.net Build CMS Setup. In this step, you will enter the information you have retrieved into the Build CMS.

After these steps are complete, Authorize.net will be available as a payment method from your website's checkout.

Now that you have learned the fundamental ideas, you can continue with the next section (Authorize.net Account Setup).

(1) Authorize.net Account Setup

• ● 1 Sign-up now. First, Sign-up for an account with Authorize.net. You can visit the Authorize.net website to access the Sign-up Page (shown above) and follow the instructions.

After you have Signed-up, you can move on to the next section, which involves navigating the Authorize.net webpage to locate and retrieve information (Authorize.net Information Retrieval).

(2) Authorize.net Information Retrieval

Logging into your Authorize.net account will bring you to the Home screen shown above.

• ● 1 Account. Click on this link to bring up your Account screen. From here, you will be able to access pages containing the information you need to set up payment integration through Build CMS.

There are two main steps to this process:

• ● A) Retrieve your Transaction Key and Login ID.

• ● B) Retrieve your Gateway ID.

When you are ready, you can move on to the first part of Authorize.net Information Retrieval (Transaction Key and Login ID).

1. Transaction Key and Login ID

After clicking Account, you will be brought to the above screen.

• ● 1 API Credentials & Keys (Transaction Key and Login ID). Clicking on this link will lead you to the following page where you can access the necessary Authorize.net credentials to be entered as your Transaction Key and Login ID in the Build CMS.

From this screen, collect the following pieces of account information:

• ● 1 API Login ID. This area automatically displays your API Login ID.

• ● 2 Generate Transaction Key. Select the New Transaction Key option and then click Submit to Generate Transaction Key.

When you have retrieved your API Login ID and your Transaction Key, you can continue with the next part of Authorize.net Information Retrieval (Gateway ID).

(B) Gateway ID

• ● 1 Billing Information. Clicking on this link will lead you to a page containing the necessary Authorize.net information to enter as your Gateway ID in the Build CMS.

• ● 1 Payment Gateway ID. This section automatically displays your Payment Gateway ID.

When you have retrieved your Payment Gateway ID, you have finished gathering the information needed in order to set up Authorize.net in the Build CMS. You can now move on to the next section (Authorize.net Build CMS Setup).

(C) Authorize.net Build CMS Setup

This section will cover the details of setting up the Authorize.net Payment Method. Now that you have set up an Authorize.net account and navigated the site in order to retrieve your information, you have all the information needed to complete the following steps.

• ● 1 Payment Methods - Authorize.net. Select this setting to open the window to the right with the respective settings for Authorize.net to configure the Payment Method.

• ● 2 Authorize.net - Settings. This window displays the following fields and settings required for configuring Authorize.net as a Payment Method.

• Account Login ID. In this field, you must enter your Authorize.net API Login Key.

• Transaction Key. In this field, you must enter your Authorize.net API Key.

• Payment Gateway ID. In this field, you must enter your Payment Gateway ID.

• Payment Methods. Checkboxes next to accepted Card Payment Methods indicate whether or not these can be accepted at your checkout.

• Transaction Test Mode [Enable]. This checkbox should be set to Enable if the site is not live (in test mode), otherwise, it should be left unchecked (disabled).

• Sandbox [Enable]. This should be checked if this module is in development or staging.

• Save. Click here to Save all fields in this section.

• Test my Settings. Click here to Test the settings you have entered in this section.
